Reconciliation of the races
Racism - in any form - is anathema to Christ, and must be to all who call themselves Christians.
Racism comes in two primary forms - active and passive - and both are damaging. Active racism manifests itself in obvious hatred and antagonism. Passive racism is perhaps even more evil, as the effects are less obvious. If we look at America today and declare that "racism is dead, therefore the problem is solved", we are actually practicing passive racism, as it should be obvious that the effects of centuries of racism cannot and have not been eradicated by a couple of decades of tolerance.
For the church to remain the single most segregated place in the nation is abhorrent, and active measures need to be taken to overcome this division. "A house divided against itself cannot stand".
